my helmet is from the bike doctor, it's a giro surface. i searched high and low for cute helmets and they had a huge selection of really nice looking helmets to choose from. they have both sporty and street-style ones. i probably went to about 8 bike shops the last couple weeks all over the city before i found this one. i really like the staff there too, super friendly. they made newbie commuter cyclists like me feel welcome :)

i learned last summer when i commuted with my mtn bike a few times that i really don't like wearing backpacks while riding. it makes my back hot and it becomes heavy really fast, especially when i have a u-lock in there.

so, this year on my new commuter bike i knew i really wanted to get a basket, to carry very important things (ie. my lunch). after a lot of searching around i found the perfect basket for my bike, a faux wicker rear grocery basket!

really clever design, has spring-loaded attachment system that makes it simple to mount on and off. also has a a velcro strap for extra security.
